Digital X-Rays

Dentists looking at digital dental x-rays

Digital X-rays can reveal valuable information about a person’s oral health that’s well-hidden beneath the teeth and gums, which is why our team will want to capture them at least every year. Digital radiography is a much-improved method compared to traditional film, exposing patients to far less radiation than before and preventing the need for any film or toxic chemicals as well. Plus, we won’t have to wait on a slow development process – the images are available instantly!

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras are an excellent diagnostic tool that helps our team discover tooth decay, oral infections, and damage with a high level of accuracy. It comes in the form of a camera-tipped wand that fits comfortably in the mouth and transfers images to a monitor in the treatment operatory. This feed also provides a great opportunity for patient education, as Dr. Goodman can use it as a visual aid when explaining problematic areas and recommended treatments.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Patient with nitrous oxide nose mask

Dental-related anxiety is a common problem among patients of all ages, which is why Dr. Goodman offers a safe and effective comfort aid in the form of nitrous oxide. This type of sedation (more commonly known as “laughing gas”) is administered to patients through a mask that fits over their nose in the treatment chair. Once you’ve breathed it in for a few minutes, you should feel much calmer and more content, allowing the appointment to proceed very smoothly. Nitrous oxide also wears off very quickly, which means that patients can leave our office and return to their daily routine right away.
